Does anyone know a rule of thumb way to deal with this request?
We had our roof replaced in our house a few years back, and it was perfectly livable at the time.
The tenant runs a massage clinic from one room, and is not happy with the fact it will be disrupted.
She wants a firm start...

The Golden mile
When you take out the bottom of the market and landlords exit , it's the bottom of society who gets affected the most.
Loss of Tax deductibility on mortgages, increased compliance costs and general anti landlord sentiment caused by media and the current government was the most likely cause...Last edited by Jeffa; 07-09-2022, 05:23 PM.

$150 a week increase then a few weeks later given 90 days to leave
There are definitely LLs out there with zero scruples...
See the Stuff article - tenant had their rent increased by $150 a week - definitely well over the top - and then once that's in place gave her 90 days to vacate for 'renovations'.
Reading between the lines - the high...

Wellington's mouldest - but are they for real?
Send in your photos and we'll judge the mouldest, dirtiest and downright horrific.
Okay, so this seems like a fun competition for the tenant occupants. So how about we designate a room that we will not air, and it's away from the sun so we have a really good contender. Do we win a prize...

Wanted to buy another IP, Everywhere is a bubble. Where to?
Dunedin which is barely 100k people and doesnt have that much employment has had its prices increase insanely. One property sold for $600k in 2016, is now asking $1.5m, which clearly they wont get, but even if they get $1m it is nuts. It is 1hr 20 from Dunedin. You can buy plenty of homes in Auck for...

Tenancy Services Heating Assessment Tool

Selling our freehold personal home to LTC for rental use and gearing up
Hi All,
Wife and I are thinking about buying a new personal home, and retaining our existing personal home but changing its use to a rental - we own it freehold. We are thinking of establishing a jointly owned LTC which would buy our existing home off us, and would use new mortgage debt...

A property maintenance query.
I have had the same tenants in a rental property for six years. Some time back I said to them that they should have the venetian blind in the kitchen professionally cleaned for the reason that when trying to clean them myself, I bent the slats. When I suggested to the tenants recently that the blind...
