Fancy a windowless room in a warehouse in East London for £600 per month? Or perhaps you're looking for a cheeky way to get onto the property ladder by buying a disused stairwell?
Actually, the stairwell is a bargain at £20K and will probably go for more. The Guardian says - planning...

More homes sold by auction last week
Not sure we can read anything into this - one third of homes offered by Auction sold last week - up from one-quarter the previous week. However, the volume offered was low, and there's no mention of the sales prices and how they compared with similar homes sold the previous week.
Everything... -
APRIL 2022. House prices falling, - numbers now show.
Looks like the actual numbers now support the claim that houses prices are starting to fall in many areas.
And that the trend is spreading throughout the country.
Even areas that were ok last month, are now in decline.
The general global consensus is that prices... -
Proof that the current market is unlike no other in history
I am currently in the process of making offers on multiple deals, its quite outstanding as I have just been asked whether all my conditions can be met in 3 working days, including finance, it just shows the massive change in the market and just how hot it has become. Basically agents are pushing for... -
Has the 15% inflation rate sneaked back from the 1980"s?
15% inflation,
it was a part of the 80"s.

Three numbers, I only need three numbers.
I just need three numbers to see where we stand.
How many houses are consented in a month.
How many people arrive in a month.
How long it takes to build a house.
That's the rough picture.
I can then polish it with details like,... -
Should I avoid becoming a landlord ?
I have never owned rental a property but logic tells me I should be considering this option. I am trading down and can afford 2 houses.
But I am nervous about becoming a landlord. I realise my success or failure probably all depends on my rental purchase decision.
Provided I do my research,... -
Is it a property market, property machine, or property symphony? Abstract"
Houses and property.
They just are.
But what are they really?
And what would we like them to be?
A market - things to be traded in days of old, like gold coins and spices in some musty trading post along the silk road?
A machine, - bland...Last edited by McDuck; 18-01-2020, 05:36 AM. -

How self-driving cars will change the property market
Interesting bit of soothsaying. Probably wont bother us antipodeans, though. Even mentions self-driving motorhomes in which the occupant can shower and have breakfast on the way to work. Wonder where it would be parked, once there?
Menlo Ventures’ managing director Venky Ganesan believes... -
Brexit - no extension, no deal
It is looking likely the UK will Brexit without a deal as many EU members are saying they're ready for the 'no deal exit'. The absolute chaos that will follow this historic event will be mind-blowing.
What will this mean for NZ - more British wanting out and relocating to NZ?

Home ownership dropping - don't believe the hype
Here's a good news item from NZH - it says home ownership in NZ is marginally better than it was in 1951 but that it's not dramatically dropping. So in 1951 it was around 66% and now it's 63%. There was a spurt of growth pushing it to an all time high of 73% in 1991 but that was uncharacteristic and... -

Australia housing Market
Remember how Auckland was increasing at a rate of $1000 a day , Sydney is loosing the same amount a day now.
This is purely due to credit or lack of it... no more fuel to the fire , and this is with very low interest rates. Imagine if the interest rates were at the peak?
But instead...Last edited by BlueSky; 09-12-2018, 10:33 PM.
