Not sure we can read anything into this - one third of homes offered by Auction sold last week - up from one-quarter the previous week. However, the volume offered was low, and there's no mention of the sales prices and how they compared with similar homes sold the previous week.
Everything sells - when the price is low enough. Maybe sellers who sold last week were more desperate, or the Agents encouraged them to drop their reserve. You have to wonder if some agents are doing this - so they get paid aye.
This would make a better journalistic story - how are Agents and others in the industry, like Auctioneers bearing up in the slump?
Cheers,
Donna
