Rental Property Interest Deductibility UK Model
NZPIF, the First Home Buyers Club and Tenancy Protection Canterbury joined forces to appeal the Gov't's decision on interest deductibility with a letter that had evidence there's more damage than benefits from the change - only to fail to get anywhere i.e. no room for negotiation.

I've got conflicting reports of how the new rules have affected auctions and the housing market in general.
Some say things are quiet, some say things have never been better.

(Unconfirmed rumor).
Interest can no longer be offset against income from your day job.
Who's affected and how?
Short term cashflow ok.. rent still comes in.
Long term asset accumulation ok ...Capital gain still happens....

Debt to income just Property Investors
Reserve Bank Mr Orr says property investors may be debt to income tested as another mechanism to stop property price growth. (was on One News 6pm).
Would this be for existing loans that come off fixed terms as well as all new loans? Maybe interesting times ahead .

House prices up nearly 20 percent
So why are house prices up nearly 20%? Not sure you can blame local investors - in fact far from it however ASB and ANZ have imposed their 30% deposit rule and arguably it will have next to no real impact on house prices.

Relaxing LVR rules for property investors
Hi All,
What do we think about the relaxing of the LVR requirements - 30% deposits down from 35%. Is this a game changer? Personally I can see house sale prices going up now occupiers and investors can borrow more - not sure that's the intention but will probably be the result aye....
