Hi All,
The title looks like it's the start of a joke - but it's not. I've read about tenants submitting applications to TT claiming their rental is unlawful.
1. How would they know for sure unless it is unsanitary or unsafe?
2. Are there clear rules around lawful...

Can a guarantor lodge a complaint at Tenancy Tribunal?
My friend is signed on as a guarantor on their adult daughters tenancy agreement. (definitely not signed on as a tenant). She pays every week to the landlord either a top up payment or the full rent (not sure) to help her daughter.
She has been there 4 months now, they never got any paperwork...

Tribunal asks for the Code of Compliance to consider claims for arrears or damages
I recently had a failed Tenancy Tribunal hearing as the tenant paid up the arrears at the last minute. The tenant was a no-show, and the adjudicator and I discussed resubmitting to end the tenancy, as I have other grounds. However, the following occurred which is disturbing.
The adjudicator...

Successful TT party can have their identity hidden on public order.
This will throw the pigeons amongst the cats - the new reforms include:
"A party who is successful in the Tenancy Tribunal can have their identifying details removed from the Tribunal’s decision."
All these fearful tenants cowering in their illegally constructed,...

The Tenancy Tribunal - Hate It or Love It
I suppose a moot point is that the prefix "tri-" means three - as in a tricycle. There's only one adjudicator, so it should really be called a Unobunal. I doubt there'd be much enthusiasm for that, even though it would be numerically correct. Ah, well . . .
Interesting item at...

Tenancy Tribunal - Who Are the Most Applications From?
I have read that 80% of Tribunal applications are from Landlords. But having searched the Tribunal data there is nothing I could find to back that up.
Instead almost every link and the data itself refers to Tenants claims and wrongful Landlords.
Any help?

I have been awarded damages and outstanding rental by TT and now the payment is paid by WINZ. My Property Manager has given to the Debts Collector to collect from WINZ and the Debts Collector charged a fee for it. They paid to my Property Manager and he charged a commission for it before banking into...

'Dog Clause' and claiming carpet damage cause by dog urine
Our tenants wanted to have a dog after their tenancy started, and we agreed as long as they signed a 'Dog Clause' (which they did) which included 'The tenant must compensate the landlord for any damage or repairs due to the dog at the end of the tenancy'.
When the tenants ended the tenancy...

Only got a tenant's first and last name on your TA?
Just a thought. I'm sure I'm preaching to the converted here, but just in case ...
Often when I come across nasty outcomes for LLs in TT decisions they only list first and last names for the tenant.
I appreciate that some people don't have a middle name (although I personally...
