Soon Lenders won't need to know about your daily spending and variable expenses like Netflix subscription and gym membership. This will be a huge relief to home buyers and mortgage brokers.
Plus there may be more revisions too as the review into the CCCFA is ongoing.

Selling may not be the best move for some investors
This is interesting - a couple sell their second home (an IP by accident) - hoping to use the profit to renovate their own home. Bank doesn't disclose that they will take half the profit and to reduce their own home loan. Mortgage broker says - don't worry - he's confident bank's move will be reversed...

New CCCFA regulations
Just read through them and lost the will to live. I pity borrowers who don't tick all the boxes and please please stay away from 'buy now pay later' providers. It's hard enough already for first home buyers, these don't make it any easier.

Are Lenders Failing To Do Due Diligence On Borrowers?
Hi All,
I think this is worthy of discussion. Here is s family that has a combined income of $8700 per month and repayments of $4000 (45.9%). Their lender says they can afford the repayments and they've not been given proof of hardship. Now the borrowers face mortgagee sale of their...

Midlands Mortgage Trust
This outfit is a first mortgage fund.
Anyone had experience with investing in them?
Good, bad or indifferent.
Given present mortgage rates, the returns seem to be very good.
Not quite in the too-good-to-be-true category yet, though.Last edited by Perry; 21-03-2019, 08:06 AM.

Interest only to increase retirement cash-flow
Hi.
I'm sure there are many older investors out there in a similar situation to ourselves. My wife and I have been steady investors for 28 years and presently have 3 Wellington rentals with 80% equity plus and our brand new freehold home.
For health reasons we wish to...

Hi Mates,
My fixed 1 year home loan with ANZ is expiring soon and I am thinking of renewing it for another 1 year. The current best rate is 3.95%, with the condition that my income is credited to my account with ANZ. However, I am overseas and my income does not go to NZ. How to overcome...

Offsetting mortgage amount on own home into rental home
Hi Guys
I've read on numerous articles/website that suggests the best way to get the most of your negative geared rental property is put all your mortgage borrowing on your rental instead of your own home to maximize the amount you can claim back on the bank interest.
Ie if...
