Trump will be president. It would destroy the integrity of the US democratic system to change the rules after the game's been called. And despite their corruption, US politicians do respect their system that has survived through much worse than Trump. That is why Obama invited him to the white house and all the ex presidents called to congratulate him despite denouncing him before the election. There is a process and they follow it, that is why western judicial and political systems produce stable societies.

It's pretty scary. I'd be surprised if he doesn't lead the USA into further military conflict. And it will be interesting to see if the USA veers more toward being a religious state. They've always valued secular government (at least superficially) but there's a really strong, very right wing Christian element to his congress.

Seems like he even 'misrepresented' (i.e. lied about) the weather.

Trump also misrepresented what happened to the weather during his swearing in. He said he felt a few drops of rain as he started delivering his address, but then, "God looked down and, and he said we're not going to let it rain on your speech.. . .The truth is it stopped immediately."

Light rain continued to fall through the first few minutes of the speech - and VIP's at the dais took out ponchos, including former president George W. Bush - and then quit. Trump said there was a downpour right after he finished, which did not occur.
