    NZ First has NZ First.

NZ should bring back unsigned TPPA – NZ First
New Zealand should follow Malaysia's lead and bring home an unsigned Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement (TPPA) for public scrutiny, New Zealand First says.

Final talks on the deal are set to end in Hawaii tomorrow with trade ministers from 12 Pacific Rim countries attempting to hammer out the controversial deal.

Malaysia's International Trade and Industry Minister Mustapa Mohamed has said the signing of the agreement "will not happen in Hawaii", Malaysian media reports.

"As the minister in charge of the TPPA talks, it is my responsibility to ensure that our constitution, sovereignty and core policies of the nation, including the interests of the Bumiputera (people of the Malay race) community, are safeguarded and upheld."

What could possibly go wrong with the TPP?
New Zealand, New Zealand, New Zealand. Don't you go worrying your pretty head about anything this Government is doing on your behalf.
Remember to have an optimistic, aspirational look around you once in a while, and say, "What a great country I live in".
You don't need to know what's in it.
We ourselves barely know, as we change our story by the day, but all you need to remember is a) we are great economic managers, and b) America, which holds almost all of the bargaining power, wants us to succeed economically almost more than we do.
But that last one, at least, is easily fixed. Keep electing us, because we're much more amenable to legislating to make big, litigious corporations feel comfortable. Problem solved. Boom.
Some then whine: "Why bother privatising these services if - at the very least - they can't be run better than those run publicly?" It's the kind of question we always get from negative nellies on the left.
Well, we find this question seriously annoying, and will ignore it.
It should be apparent that privatisation is immeasurably better - look at charter schools. (Don't look too closely.)

The privatisation of our social services is happening apace.
One way this will be achieved, in the health sector at least, is to put our own, hand-picked appointees on each district health board, in preparation for the gradual privatisation of our health system.
Yes, the economy is slowing down. Sure there is milk powder stockpiled in China and foodbanks are busier than ever.

But we're listening to the concerns of the people, and we're chilled about how these problems will resolve themselves.

Above all, remember the words of economic guru Bill English, who at the National Party's recent annual conference in Auckland, put it in perspective.
Slowing economic growth would not derail the party's re-election chances in 2017, he said, because, luckily, it came at the right time in the electoral cycle.
        Boo-yah!
We don't need to know what's in the TPP - the government themselves barely know, as they change their story by the day, writes Dita De Boni.

Do we really believe it won't happen? That Labour won't support it? I believe it's already a done deal and we're just getting a bit of lip service until they announce it.

          cheers,

Frugal With The Truth & TPPA Mendacity

What needs to be repeated, daily, if not more frequently, is that if it was as good as the W'gton
woodenheads claim, they would be trumpeting the good news details from the rooftops, plus
making it a re-elect-us-type issue. But they're not. What does that tell you? It tells me that there
will be no net benefit for New Zealand or its citizens in the aggregate, and all the hype about
commercial sensitivity is just so much tripe and BS.

The dairy deal for New Zealand at Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) talks was looking "disastrous",
according to Federated Farmers dairy industry chairman Andrew Hoggard.
The Foreign Affairs and Trade Ministry won't say whether New Zealand's laws on software patents
will need to be overhauled if agreement is reached on the Trans-Pacific Partnership.
I.e. NZ laws will become subject to a USA corporatocracy, as will its citizens, along with ISDS disasters.

I'm glad you posted that - I don't watch TV.
It is interesting (and pleasing) that they had her on since she had the facts and Mike didn't.
His soap box was shown to be a bit weak.
She needs some space in the news paper.

There's more information on an anti-TPPA web site, here, and they have an e-mailing list, too.

How do you tell if a politician is lying?

                          Their lips are moving.

John Key was just on BBC World - said he thought TTP would be a done deal before end of 2015.

350 protesters at Parliament today - a petition with 100,000 signatures was handed in.

                                cheers,
