investing 600-700k
Looking for advice on investing 600-700k that will provide an income to contribute to retirement apartment costs. Thinking of 2/3 bed apartment in Hobsonville Point or house in West Harbour. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Assuming a couple is preparing for retirement and plan to live on rental income. All the rental properties they intend to invest including their home will be mortgage free. In this scenario, what is the best entity to execute the plan in order to minimize tax and protect the assets? Trust? LTC? Partnership?...

What would you do in this situation?
- wanting cashflow for retirement
- have property with $4mil net ($6mil property with $2mil borrowings)
Currently the gross return is around 4% - out of that I have to pay rates etc.
So if I sold down enough property to be mortgage...

Mortgage advice- can anyone help my parents?

Long time reader- first time poster.
My parents have a fixed rate mortgage of approx 200K at around 9% which expires in Jan 2011.
They are both working on good incomes ( ~ 100K HH) and in secure jobs and have about 8-10 years left before they retire.
