    Toilet paper

Anyone else wish they'd bought shares in toilet paper instead of those useless electric car and wind farms shares?

    Crime and punishment.

When does a crimminal become a crimminal?

Is it when the crime is commited?
Is it once the judge decides the court case?

For example...the mosque guy......he did what he did....no court case yet..... is he a criminal?

Maybe he is too much of an extreme example...

  • The big exhale. abstract money theory. one for the thinkers.

It annoys me when people confuddle me with tales circulating money.

    I soon loose track.

And in that loss of track, any false "value statement" can survive undetected.

    but wait.

    an idea.

    It's not circular, really.

Should we ban filters on cigarettes?

I saw an item on the news about the rubbish on beaches.
In this particular footage, there were quite a few cigarette filters on the shore.
So I though, why not remove the filter from the cigarette?
No more filters washing down storm water drains into the sea.
    That must be good?...

  • Yes vote on Cannbis may help us avoid a Property crash

With the Petty drug costing near half a billion $ in incarcerations alone, that money could be used to firm up our flailing economy.

Selling some lamb and milk powder and some tourism where people can see how nobody in NZ uses the bin and it is 100% filled with Rubbish everywhere, in sports...

  • How do you stimulate an economy or show me the money!

Well, how do you get you primates to do anything?

Fortunately you are biological machines and you run out of food or warmth or are driven by deep primal urges to reproduce.
So we're reasonably sure you won't just sit there and do nothing.

You are also able to be inspired...

  • Stand and deliver, your money or your life. One for the game theorists.

Stand and deliver, your money or your life.

Just the sort of choice you might expect a highway robber of old to bellow out -
    from under his mask -
as he sits upon his steed -
while levelling his flintlock pistols at a carriage -
containing a gentleman and his fretting...

  • Zero percent interest is not free money, really, it's not.

Zero percent interest is not free money.

    It seems free.

But when you take on a mortgage you sell hours of your life.

By pitting bidders against each other, and loaning the money to both sides to do so, prices go up.

As do the hours of your precious...

  • Who benifits from money? - another one for the thinkers and multitaskers.

    Who benefits from Money?

When Money is in the form of Gold, who can benefit from it?

    Probably only the holder.
(At the point of exchanging it for consumable goods).

    Silver, possibly the same.
(but don't forget the wider society also benefits, (from...

  • Where should money circulate? - One for the thinkers.

    Where should money circulate?

Money circulates in different areas of our society.

Some of it circulates in the housing sector.
This money keeps builders, timber merchants and real estate agents, etc busy.

Some of it circulates in the Methamphetamine sector,...

    Laissez-faire, (let it go).
A French word and a fifteenth century French concoction.*

    Are you for it?

    Will it actually work?

I've notice some people seem passionate about their rights and freedoms.(and property rights, ha)
    Oblivious to the fact that...

Greenland . How do you buy a country?

People have ridiculed Donald for offering to buy Greenland.

After a bit of research, I found out that it's not the first time America has offered to buy Greenland.

And that there is already a huge US base there.

And that the land itself is full of Eskimo type...

The tale of two petrol stations.

My old Economics teacher told me this tale.
    He was formidable, and dedicated.

I suspect he's long since passed away.
    His teaching continues.

There was a small petrol station, on the main dusty road that ran through the centre of a very small, very dusty township....

    Anti-vaxxers are stupid people

I was reading recently about people who are opposed to the normal childhood vaccines.
The article mentioned that anti-vaxxers come from all walks of life - there was even a GP who was anti-vaccine - this was given as an example of an intelligent person.
    Well, that is wrong.

What's wrong with Mike Hoskings Opinions?

Every time I read one of Mike's opinion pieces,
My internal moral compass sets off a warning buzzer in my mind.

A feel a deep sense that something wrong and possibly slightly evil has been put into the world.

    Mike's latest piece is entitled:
