Looks more like an early disk assembly or memory module.

Yeah, a computer. Slightly larger than a laptop!

You wouldn't need an earthquake monitor to let you know the earth had moved if you dropped it!

Like the others, I was going to say this was the first Pocket PC, but a few minutes searching tells me its a 5 meg hard drive !!

Oh the wonders of modern technology - both the internet & the hardware !

The scary thing is just what can be found on the web these days. Activated a google app recently & it found connections to me from all over the place, ie Big Brother is definitely watching & accumulating, which was a bit of a worry.

Dont remember exactly, but i think it was Buzz - bit like twitter, tries to connect all your online presences into one.

It's a hard disk drive back in 1956.

In September 1956 IBM launched the 305 RAMAC, the first 'SUPER'
computer with a hard disk drive (HDD). The HDD weighed over a ton
and stored a 'whopping' 5 MB of data.

Do you appreciate your 4 GB memory stick a little more, now?

Don't know about a google app - but try this site: http://www.pipl.com/

Glenn mentioned it here on PT somewhere.

Interesting how it all (so often) leads
                          to a send-us-some-money web site.
I was staggered at how wrong much
                          of the information was.
E.g. I work for xtra and live in Auckland.

Sure, but even the fact that it is finding stuff by my email on a site where the email address is supposed to be hidden was a concern.
