  • Press Release: PropertyTalk.com is NOT part of PRISM

Being as BIG as we are we like to state that we are not part of PRISM unlike Facebook, Google and Microsoft.

The trick is making you think you're not.

Here is the whistleblower - his motives seem honourable but he is only 29 and possibly still believes that the sheeple will remember his name in a week and that PRISM and the governments will change. The best he can hope for is life in prison once Obama gets hold of him.

Isn't that exactly what you would say if you were part of PRISM?

We need people with courage such as these whistleblowers, especially if it is as serious as it appears at this early stage .

It is sometimes incredible how far reaching the effects that initial actions such as this can have.

In our neck of the woods, just look at how the Dotcom saga keeps playing out.

              Perhaps not.
Hong Kong refused to extradite, so he was free to leave for Moscow.
It appears he may have been accepted by Ecuador.

This is an extract from the Hong Kong Government statement.
At the same time, it has formally written to the US Government requesting clarification on reports about the hacking of computer systems in Hong Kong by US government agencies. It will follow up on the matter, to protect the legal rights of people of Hong Kong.

What Hong Kong's Remarkable Statement on Edward Snowden Says About the Territory

By defying the United States over the extradition of its most famous exile, a normally-placid Hong Kong reveals an assertiveness that may one day be problematic for China.
Beijing is no doubt pleased with how everything has turned out.
But in the long term, Hong Kong's growing sense of political identity is an issue that will keep China's Communist leaders awake at night.
Today's defiance of the United States is tomorrow's with a nearer, more closely connected, neighbor.

Regardless of the rhetoric about how we need more of these types of people ultimately the guy will become someones footnote in wikipedia.

Also a survey was conducted (by media?) that identified most people think its acceptable to be monitored if they can be protected against terrorism.

Sheeple don't give a stuff about big bother. They are more worried about keeping their job, paying down their debts and feeding their kids. If the government wants to read their emails between grandma and the kids to stop homeland terrorism and kids shooting their school mates and teachers then they think thats a smallprice to pay.

The guy has ruined his life and those closet to him - Uncle Sam does not forget.

Thats the other thing that I find interesting - if you are using TOR and .onion sites or visiting sites like Silk Road then maybe you are of interest to the gov?

I see very limited reasons for using TOR or setting up your own TOR network unless your working on some very secret stuff for the government. Or your a nerd and want to have a play.

Must only be members of the Government being upset about having their privacy infringed upon by the Government then.

As an aside; it must surely grate Key that tomorrow he comes face to face with Dotcom for 15 minutes while he makes his submission to the GCSB bill select committee chaired by Key.

PM has limited sympathy for Dunne's email complaints

Anyone want to wager that he is back on US soil and making himself at home for the rest of his life in a nice concrete room like the Boston bomber's by end of this month? July 2013.

Meanwhile, this whole GCSB spying bill and its tentacles just keeps on getting murkier.
At least it explains Key's almost indecent rush to get it passed and off the agenda.

                            Reporter's phone records released
United Future leader Peter Dunne said he was told by the head of an inquiry into the leak of the GCSB report David Henry that he intended to access his phone records along with a Fairfax press gallery journalist.

Mr Dunne's comments on his way to Parliament today contradict a statement from Speaker of the House, David Carter,

Today in a statement Mr Carter said the phone records of Andrea Vance had been received by David Henry's inquiry into the leak of the Rebecca Kitteridge report into the GCSB but were rejected.

Prime Minister John Key also contradicted Mr Dunne's comments, saying the inquiry were aware of a mandate only to focus their inquiry on ministers and their staff.
Mr Dunne said he was shocked three months worth of Miss Vance's phone information had been accessed, saying it was very serious.

NSA leaker granted one-year Russian asylum
The United States is now "evaluating the utility" of an anticipated meeting between Obama and Russian President Vladimir Putin in September around the time of the G-20 international meeting, Carney said.

High-level talks scheduled for next week between US Secretary of State John Kerry, Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel and their Russian counterparts also are now "up in the air," a US official told Reuters, speaking on condition of anonymity.
