    • Well she's a shoe in to last to at least the next election. She'll be forgiven for losing this one as she only just got in so she has a few years to try to prove herself now.

      • Maybe the revolving door of Labour leaders over the years, witnessed in this very thread, should tell us that maybe it isn't the leader that's the problem?

        • But the leader gets the blame. Like the coach does after a lost rugby game.

It's never the team's fault - on the field or the hustings.

          • The Jacindamania effect has caught me by surprise.
I never thought being photogenic was enough to capture anyones vote.
Maybe this week a reporter might ask her a question about, say, the economy or a capital gains tax.

            • Not until we know the really important answers, like what brand of shampoo she uses.

              • How often does she floss?

Yes, which is why the leader is changed. If the leader comes with new ideas or a new direction, or new tactics, things can be turned around.

But sometimes, no matter how good the new coach is (cough-warriors-cough), it isn't the coach that is the problem.

Yeah, if/when she loses, she'll be safe in her job. For about 6 months to a year. Then the knives will come out.
