    Mediation appointments too fast.

I'm starting to get mediation appointments which are before the 10 day notice expires. Anyone else out there experiencing the same?

Eg. 10 day notice runs until October 21st. Appointment offered is October 13th. Weird.

Yep. Same here. Also in Christchurch though when the order turned up it looks like it was actually done in Auckland!

No mention of any problem form the mediator about being in advance of the expiry of the 10-day notice. But then she managed to stuff everything else up -- including producing an order which she rang after the meeting to tell me probably would not be enforceable as it would be unlikely to be sealed.

Nor any receipt by mail of copies of order for signing.

How quick after you applied do it take to get appointment?

Most recent was 7 (calendar) days from lodging application to date of mediation.

13 days from lodging to appointment. 7 days prior to expiry of 10 day notice.

I received successful telephone mediation, 4 working days before the ten day letter date lapsed. Best $20 I've spent in a while! This was on Tuesday. Needless to say, I didn't mention the ten working days were not up yet.

Think we should just shut up & enjoy the good service while it lasts.

What if the orders become unenforceable
as a consequence? No enjoyment there.

Couple of weeks ago I received a telephone mediation appointment for 3 weeks in the future. Rung to see if it could be brought forward and was told absolutely no sooner appointments. She was most definite. That afternoon had ring from mediator- tenant distressed as received notification of hearing and has come in to reception. (Didn't come in with any of the arrears though!) Can we have an on the spot telephone mediation, asked the mediator?

                  Yet another good
                  example of pro-tenant bias.

                    Beat this one

I applied on line first thing 11/11/09. Had mediation today: 12/11/09. How fast is that?
