Dean, why are all these strangers discussing our family affairs?
xris as you seem so puzzled why not to make it abit more exciting for you?
True fact:
Some of my children are catholics, some orthodoxs
As for me - I'm radical christian zen-taoist (I'll let you figure out yourself to which one of three "radical" should be applied)
Don't argue with idiots, they'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
Hi, someone told me off list that if you do the course you have to sign a contract saying that you won't give the contract away, so this explains the resistance.
It is probably easier to have my contracts checked over by a NZ lawyer. The contracts they give you in these programs, were possibly originally contracts from the states that were checked over by a NZ lawyer in the first place then "sold" in these courses..... Sometimes I think the biggest money maker in real estate are 'running courses on real estate' and you will only get help if you pay for it. We've paid a lot on courses, books etc... I think we can figure this one out on our own.
I don't believe that just because you have done a course makes "you safe with your loaded gun". So many people go through these programs, come out all hyped up and more dangerous than ever (especially to themselves).
Curious as to what you mean specifically, by "get your ducks in a row".... (does this mean before I shoot them with my loaded gun? hehe)
Thanks, not wanting to offend anyone, just have not found it particularly helpful how everyone just wants a slice of the pie.

I wonder about this. If the contracts are copyright then they may be allowed to do this, but let's get real here. How on earth are they going to enforse it? Also, it won't take much to alter the contract enough to avoid copyright issues while still having a robust contract. It sounds to me that they are relying on people's fear of the unknown.

Again, the copyright issue, or otherwise, needs to be looked into. Can someone who is now $5,000 poorer please advise?

Very perceptive and well put.

Same.

I don't mind offending people, especially those who take thousands of dollars off people for a few pieces of paper copied from America. Nor from people who show such an open distain for their clients (actual of going to be) that they freely give away personal information to all and sundry, just to try to paint themselves in a better light.
And for those who do not remember, a while ago I pointed out, with Ivan's help, that those contract forms you pay for are flawed anyway because they contain a clause which cannot be legally enforsed in NZ. It took me 30 secs to realise that once I had seen it; this then naturally opens up the question as to what else about the company and its product is flawed?

Was that the "tenant pays for all maintenance" clause xris?
Great idea Rebecca - sounds like an easy way to overcome these oncooperative Kiwis who refuse to "share" their contracts and want a "slice of the pie"!
The only wee issue is A. to find a lawyer who understands what it's all about. B. Wait until he/she will "translate" these contracs to Kiwi Legal English C. Pay him after he'll finish "checking" US contracts (I guess your bill would be in tens of thousands) - I saw different American contracts and two NZ versions - good luck!

everything xris, absolutely everything - what about fencing off a bit of dirt and isolate these dangerous types there (together with their students) and also contracts should be burned on main squares of all towns in NZ where this plague has spread to!

I have read that email again twice and in the midst of all the garbled codes etc I can only find a cell phone number and email address. If that is what you are referring to as personal details I apologise.
There are contracts freely available all over the net and from other sources. The issue is to get them right for NZ market.
Yes, we got the contracts converted from America it took us 5 years, 4 lawyers, 2 accountants and $50,000 to get them to be the best for NZ. We were the pioneers and at that time could not find an NZ lawyer who was familiar with the system. In fact when we started we could not find anyone to help us at all and had 4 deals done before we could get anybody to take us seriously.
If you would like to get some other contracts changed for yourself, please be careful that you get a lawyer who is very familiar with the system and what you are doing.
Excellent contracts are the most esssential part of your business. Believe me we have the scars to prove that.
The reason we and others protect the contracts and don't allow them to be "given" away is that we feel that anyone using them needs the education to go with it.
New Zealand has already been through the wrap contracts being freely available and that system has now died for various reasons. Most of the education providers in this country are trying to protect the system.
Our core business is property trading, not teaching. The courses we run for only those who want to attend, and we have small classes for that reason. We offer a free repeat and full money back guarantee and have never had anyone use that offer for the last five years.
We are keen to help people do well in property to promote the industry as a whole. Let us know if we can help you in some way too.

You allowed my personal cellphone number, personal email address and surname to be posted on a public forum after I sent a private email to you.
You have no idea what job I am in now, or what job I was in previously, that would necessitate me having an unlisted phone number.
You know nothing about me or my personal circumstances.
I am not exaggerating when I say you may have seriously affected my children's quality of life - and in fact endangered them.
For you to say that "IF" I regard this as personal information you apologise, shows how you have totally disregarded the severity of your actions. What more personal information besides home address, could you have posted???
You chose to ignore the PM function, ignore the cellphone number I gave you, and post a private email you had just sent (not the copy of the email I was actually talking about in my post). You even chose not to answer the PM I sent you, but instead post on the forum saying there was something wrong with my email. There is nothing wrong with my email - I suggest you check your email servers as I am not the only one that has posted on this forum about GBI not returning emails. You did this because you wanted to be right, and in the process you have hurt my family.
Customer service and selling a product is not about being right.
I notice you don't have a cellphone number, or NZ physical address, or personal email address, or even a new zealand land line number (except fax), listed on your contact page on your website. This is a decision you have made about what you post publically on the internet. I would have thought you would have the decency to extend this to a potential customer.
What other information do you share about your existing customers? The potential deals they are making?
To say I'm upset about this invasion of my family's privacy would be an understatement. To those that think I'm over-reacting, I'd say I'm a Mother and I'm protecting my kids from harm.
Hi Dorien
Thank you for your reply. How would you propose to help me with my situation? I am looking for NZ lease option contracts, as we would like to offer a rental we have, as a lease to own to a tenant we have. We are not in the country to take your course however. We are familiar with the lease option system (with experience in Canada) Thanks Rebecca
