There is a certain NZ trait that I discovered after spending many years abroad and one that you've epitomized, Meehole. It seems to affect all of society's strata. It's the one-eyed inability to admit when one is wrong, even in the face of evidence. I don't understand if it's seen as some kind of weakness or it's simply true that ignorance is indeed bliss.

I, along with many others, have a lot of respect for Dr O'Sullivan.

He has done, and is doing, a lot of great medical work amongst the families up North.

      Lance O'Sullivan backs Maori Party
New Zealander of the Year Dr Lance O'Sullivan has endorsed the Maori Party, saying it's hard to be popular and still do the right thing.

And the Northland doctor, who said he had turned down several offers to stand in this election, was not ruling out a future in politics.

O'Sullivan has thrown his celebrity behind the Maori Party saying he believed compromise was the best way to advance Maori interests, and the Maori Party was best placed to do that.

The only party that promotes an individuals property rights is ACT.
So be a sensible person and vote to retain your rights and freedoms.
        Party Vote Act.

Not that I am promoting them Viking, but they are also the only flat tax party who are actually prepared to nominate their tax rate .
The other lot with a flat tax proposal are strangely quiet on the subject.

            2 kimono

            or

            2 kimonos?

use the original loan word grammar

            or

            standard english grammar?

neither is wrong in modern english usage

I am going to vote for the party that in my view works best for the country regardless property investment benefit or disadvantage. For many students issues might not be a 'country' issue, but I care about students traffic cost. :-) So, I will probably go for Green. But, if any other party promises free uni education, I'll probably go for that party. :-)

so you will go for the best treat?
Because free transport for students isn't necessarily best for the country - it is a minor distraction really.

Interest free loans to the couch burners worked well for Aunty Helen in '05.

It did indeed - doesn't make it the best option though.
whatmakesmehappy said they would vote for the party that in my view works best for the country regardless property investment benefit or disadvantage
then proceeded to describe how they would vote for the best treat.

                      Quod Erat Demonstrandum

It is not a 'minor issue' if it wins the Greens lots of votes.

You and I may think it is; but as a cunning pre election announcement (bribe) it may prove to be otherwise.

The only thing likely to be proven from that
is that self-interest prevails in some form.
But that may motivate the many, anyhow.

Haha I wanted take back the free uni education, but in the meantime, there are already some replies. Yep, I don't think free uni edu is good as we can't afford, but traffic bribe sound good to me. :-) I know I want to invest in property, but I also want to support Green and/or Labour, too.

Enjoy their CGT, if you get lucky.

They are really all a crock. Even if the Cons got
in to a negotiating position, no one knows what's
                              negotiable except the binding CIR.

You only have to ponder Shonkey's comment
about asset sales: that was our evinced policy
before we were elected, so it shouldn't be seen
                              as a surprise.
                              (Or the like)

So was getting rid of the Maori Seats.

                              Big surprise there, eh?
