One of the traps with the card insurance is the time they insure for.
Some are 30 days - if your holiday is 31 days (flight lands 12:30am on the 31st day) then you aren't covered for ANY of the trip.

Same applies though - go away for 91 days and you don't have any insurance.

My Westpac one is 120 days.

How did you get that? The standard is listed as 35 days. All the references to 'activation' are not easy to decode.

Westpac still offers a 120-day travel insurance credit card, their World Mastercard. Though it comes with a fairly steep $390 annual fee.

That one does have some other benefits like lounge access but the price is a bit steep for me.

Except for the BNZ card during the recent double cash back. ..

Yeah - I looked at that but we don't fly enough.
Tend to do less but longer trips (2 or 3 one month trips a year) so less flying

Too bad we are not in the USA with all the manufactured spending opportunities. I don't think I'd even put $50k pa on a card, let alone per 6 months.

As an aside, agree Priority Pass is excellent. Used it a dozen or more times through Europe earlier in the year.

BNZ Platinum used to be $30k per 6 months. When Wesux took over, that feature vanished.
