33% subsidy insulation - is it still available

Reading at many places it seems the 33% subsidy for insulation is closed or will be closed soon. Greenstar site says, they have no 33% subsidy left.
I'm not clear about the new scheme eligibility. My house was built before 2000 and is in West Auckland. I have no community service card and we are family of 4 (2 kids less than 10 years old).

Is it good to wait for the new scheme to open and look at the eligibility or better to do it now if available ?

    Appreciate any response.

    shami,

I just received the 33% discount for an insulation job I booked in for September. The tenant or I do not have a community services card.

So that tells me there are still subsidies depending on what insulation company you choose.

      Thanks Shane.
I read in other thread that you were asking for recommendations of providers.
Who did you go with ?

Any idea what material will be good ?

        shami,

I ended up going with Greenstar Energy solutions

        www.myhealthyhome.co.n
        z

        Email: [email protected]

They are very busy and it took over 2 weeks to get a quote, then the earliest I could get a date for a tradesman to do the installation was over 3 weeks after confirming the quote.

I also needed to pay 50% upfront.

I will have the following materials installed
        - R3.6 Pink Batts in ceiling
        - R1.5 Pink Batts underfloor
        - on ground moisture barrier

        Regards

        Shane

A colleague of mine has just secured a home insulation (at 33%) through Right House. Give them a call, but he tried a few others who had run out.

                Thanks heugumber.
I had contacted few for a quote. One provider giving quote said greenstuf is the best one, and fibre glass is not advisable with kids. Another provider gave quote saying fibre glass is the best one and since greenstuf is expensive than fibreglass people trying to sell greenstuf are misleading information.

Anyone got some thoughts on it ?

My thought - they will sell (push) what they use. Don't let the kids in the ceiling and they shouldn't be a problem.

We have Novatherm works well for us - is just like duvet inner and the cat trys to get into the roof everytime you open the man hole

I recently wanted to do a small insulation job myself, my requirements ruled me ineligible for the subsidised scheme so I shopped around. In the end I purchased earthwool online and installed it myself. Good product. Sharpe price. Great delivery.

They said the minor glass particles from fibre glass will come out through the downlights and get into the breath.

Not sure how far it is true.

I was told that the glue in the fibre glass breaks down over the years reducing the loft and effectiveness. Given the company outlining this didn't sell fibreglass but I prefer to be able to crawl around in the roof without taking precautions esp as we were planning on putting stairs up there for storage.

Just got a quote from Right House for insulation. Effectively $2k for the materials and $2k for the installation - with the subsidy. Waiting for a 2nd quote. Installing it in the ceiling is fine but I can't be bothered crawling under the house for the floor insulation. Mulling this over - cost verses effort.
