I don't approve of someone being seriously assaulted, by why we all just roll over and accept price increase after price increase for every conceivable council service, not to mention straight out fines for doing things like occupying a bus lane more than 50m before a left turn, is a mystery to me.

There should be a civil disobedience campaign against this council. Taxing everyone to death via all sorts of mechanisms and squandering it on rubbish.

No I don't know anything about that department of AT.

I got issued parking ticket recently as well, and I did get quite upset about that, but all I did was throw the ticket onto the pavement, and drove off.

Taking my frustration on the ticket officer (who was present) didn't even come across my mind.

They should have issued another ticket for littering!

I guess I was lucky, or maybe he was relieved that I didn't go punch him in the face ;-)

                • Can anyone get away with pulling an Aaron Gilmour these days? Even genuine A-list slebs can't do it for fear of ridicule by the paparazzi.

                  • Although I see Brownlee pretty much did it by proxy, physically, at an airport yesterday.

                    • Perhaps he thought he was traveling on a turboprop ?
After all, there is zero security screening on these is there not ?

                      • For those, yes, generally. But it depends on the
place where the passenger is at Boarding call.
In some airports, passengers can be 'airside' (been
through security already) and in other airports
they can be 'groundside' (no security check).

So, if travelling on a regional route, starting
from 'groundside' in W'gton, no security check.

But if starting on a regional flight from Auckland,
the passenger may already have passed through
into the secure 'airside' area, then move out of
there, to the 'groundside' (security level) depar-
                        ture area.

                        Or something like that.

Auckland Council admits there is no evidence of support for the Central Rail Loop

On a number of occasions Mayor Len Brown has claimed that there is overwhelming public support for the central rail loop.

                              • You want to live in an apartment by a railway station!!!!!

Len Brown was on the telly promoting these apartments. Turns out some have pillars/columns in the middle of them!

                                Pillar shock prompts apartment dispute

Purchasers warned to get expert advice before signing up to properties off plans.

A new apartment buyer faces the possibility of a legal row with a developer after finding window and bed space blocked by pillars she claims were not on the plans.
The developer insists the floor-to-ceiling pillars were declared -- prompting a warning to buyers to get expert advice before buying off the plans.
