    Top marks for Vero

I had one of my houses vandalised on the weekend when the tennants weren't there. 7 bricks through 7 windows, oh how I would love to catch the bastards that done it...

Anyway, I rang my Insurance Broker today after the bill of $832.30 came in and he said that Vero had a new quick easy "over the phone" claims system that had been up and running for a few weeks and it was easy and simple for claims under a certain amount - not sure what that amount is.

He gave me the 0800 number so I gave them a call and within 5 minutes it was all over, the invoice amount minus my excess will go in to my account tonight. I had to email or fax a copy of the invoice from the glass company and that was that, lucky they didn't need the Police report as they haven't showed yet, surprise surprise.

We have all had nightmares with Insurance Companies and filling out claims forms but this is a step in the right direction, good on ya Vero

Thought I would share this, I am for anything that makes our lives easier.

I had a ranch slider blow in during a storm. My managing agent got it repaired quick smart to secure the property.

When the insurance company (AMI) was phoned, they would not pay as they wanted to see the window in it's broken state.

So that was $650 down the crappa.

I have had other claims off AMI which went well, and their premiums are competitive, so please don't read this as a complaint, but rather a lesson to be learned.

    TD

(having said that, perhaps I should get a quote of Vero....)

And get your agent to use a digital camera to take a picture of the damage before it gets repaired.

      Cheers

We use AMI and have found them excellent!

The minimal extra paid for glass cover has well been worth it many times over.

They have their prefered suppliers, and you just get a claim number, phone the repairer and all done.....no hassles....great!!

          Ami

I have used AMI glass cover to fix cracked ranch sliders a couple of times.
Their contractors organized the repair, & replaced the aged yellow glass with modern smokey panels. Top marks.

I use State insurance. Had a broken window. Rang them up and within 2 hours had a glass company out to fix the window. Window was free as it was covered in my glass insurance.

Hey Dean, it was my house in Otara, nothing like that would happen in West Auckland

However last weekend, mother nature paid me a visit at one of my houses in Massey with a mini twister which removed 30 roof tiles, (unfortunatley it was raining big time), downed the front fence and dropped 2 trees. The insurance assessor was saying this was common now

                Climate change?

I am a bit scared about this weekend.. they say it comes in threes......
