Sometimes it's not possible to keep a thread within the strict parameters you'd often like. This thread has progressed, not totally off topic, to other interesting areas. Saying we're blinded by blinkers is just so wrong.

yeah I'll try and tone it down. I just hate seeing people fooled and sucked in to thinking Property is an easy form of investment.

Yep and that's why we started PropertyTalk - for people to share their experiences and knowledge and I'd say we go a long way in keeping many businesses 'honest'. We got stung by a property syndicate and that motivated us set up PropertyTalk to let others know to watch out for 'property promoters' and syndicates.

It's easy to fall into the trap of thinking every operator is dodgy if they are in Property Education. I can say that Property Tutors runs a clean ship - they have been in the game for long enough to know if they don't stay on the right side they will get hammered.

However offshore operators selling offshore property to Kiwis have no such concerns - they are not governed by NZ law and they can come in churn and burn and leave again and its these groups that we need to be wary of in my humble opinion.

Kiwis are too trusting - in some ways it's endearing in other ways it's disappointing. We are a target for less scrupulous individuals and they include Kiwis. We have short memories and get wooed by sliver tongued operators.

          Cheers,

          Donna

Ok, fair enough and clearly stated. Some mentoring programs do act as finders for their students, and it's generally a bit of a conflict of interest.

            You've said your's doesn't, which I'll accept on trust.

Regarding the comment "The best place to see this is either on our YouTube channel or our Successes page, either of which are easily accessible from the front page of our website"... can you confirm whether these links proceed to any person who in any way criticises your organisation?

I suspect they do not. People with genuine enquiries do not want a one-sided story. They wish to hear the good & the bad, which is completely reasonable on their part. To suggest that the 'bad' are simply "anonymous knockers" to be ignored is rather presumptious on your part.

PS. I kind of like the odd anonymous knocker, but that's a whole other story.
I don't think that many companies have links to people criticizing their organizations on their websites.

On PT we are quite happy to host criticism of any company, product or service so long as it is done within the rules. If there is someone out there who has had a bad experience with Property Tutors or anyone else, they are welcome to post their experience as a warning to others, so long as it is clearly NOT anonymous.

Damage is also quite welcome to post his or her honest opinion that someone may or may not get as much out of reading a book as they would out of a mentoring program - what Damage, nor anyone else, can not do is make anonymous allegations of questionable behaviour by some party for which he or she (apparently) has no qualification to make.

I have a similar reaction to headlines like "Awesome Deal from AxiTrader! Great for Forex Beginners!", but that's another story

For example your property at Archboyd was bought for $280k, it had no money spent on it, yet its "estimated valuation" is now $380k
How can a property just suddenly increase by a $100k?

We all know that RV means nothing in the real world. Interestingly, or maybe not,. but I did a search on property guru for alot of these sales and none matched the inital sales date or value.

Really halfempty....you need to read the rules again mate!

                              2) Negative comments about ANY company (including PT) or individual may be allowed so long as;

2.a) The comments are not hear say (i.e. comments must be first hand experience)

2.b) The poster gives their real name(first name, last name).

2.c) There is an understanding that, if a thread becomes heated, PT reserves the right at their discretion, to either edit or remove any post that the Moderators may deem destructive, and/or as a last resort, lock the thread.

2.d) If there was any question as to the authenticity of the person posting the message/thread, the company or individual may question this. Any benefit of a doubt would be given to the company or individual if it was suspected that the negative comments were purely malicious.
....and of course that would exclude any comment you made 'half empty' - unless your mother named you 'half empty'?

                              cheers,

                              Donna
