Actually common sense, physiology and physics would tell you that the cat wouldnt really bounce at all, def not noticeable to the human eye. In fact Mythbusters did a show on this only a couple of years ago (they didnt use a live cat).. but the results were conclusive that a dead cat cannot bounce as visible to the human eye.

But the dead cat bounce metpahor has already a definition of its own.

Some good comedy to watch, reminds me of when I worked at our parliament and witnessed such good comedy. Some dude in the house, has a few comments to make but instead turns them into a comedy where he makes himself look witty infront of his mates through his clever use of sarcasm.

They need to speak without emotion arrogance and sarcasm because it's not about the power of the speaker; it's about the logic and backup of the comment if you want real solutions to complex problems.
They need to be un accepting of fakers, like the guy who might say "5 years rates have risen because of increased overseas costs of funds" with total confidence but in reality he doesn't know the amount the overseas funds increased buy instead, heard it from another faker who told him the info with total confidence.
They need to be dynamic in consideration of the ideas of others.

And yet it's "these people" I should be thankful to, for without them, myself and many others wouldn't be able to make a bit of spare cash from investing in property or gold or whatever.

Point taken, however I think many of us would have done better if the words that are preached as gospel were actually practiced.

Unfortunatly for many in privaledged areas of commerce, government, and finance there would be no place for them in a proper functioning capitalist economy based on savers, entrepenuers, production, R&D etc.

Unfortunatly the game on offer at moment has the apperance of a confidence game run by confidence tricksters.

Im still in, with one free hold property. Thats enough for now. Im looking at the moment but doubt ill be jumping in over the next 18 months.

Currency is just a supplement for income, had no need to trade last year as I was recieving a favorable return on cash.

I was going to wait for a while before buying again too and switch over to some music composition I've had on hold, also had planed to build a stirling engine with a big magnifying glass and a gentle annie motor as my waste-oil burner rusted out after 20 years, but saw a place I really would have liked, sell in january. I'm currently getting new valuations done and watching the market closely. Most of Wellington seemed to drop a little over 10% for january09 but now looks back up to a less than a 5% drop from the average highs of 2007.
