I seem to recall last year that the district plan for whangarei changed. This included changing zoning ratings from one system to another. One thing I noticed in this document (which I can no longer find) is that the definition of a minor dwelling would now be a maximum of 90m2 (from memory this is...

Hi

I'm currently doing a new build in Auckland. It's in the "singe house zone" so you can build a 65m2 minor dwelling. I'm going to build a main dwelling plus a separate minor dwelling/granny flat.

I'm just wondering about utilities.

Hi all,

In Hamilton, if the land size is smaller than 700sqm (say 690sqm), does it rule out any chance of buidling a legal minor dwelling that you can rent out separately? And how about existing home + unit with section less than 700sqm? Does it also mean that it is not a legal home...

Hi everyone,
I've noticed a few listings of properties that have resource consent for minor dwellings.
Is there a standard amount that accounts for the added value of the consent?
i.e. Does the consent add 15k to the asking price?

Thanks for your advice.
