    Press Release: Trade Me Limited
    Media Release

The Professionals Partner With Trade Me Property

The Professionals has entered into a partnership to market over 2000 properties through Trade Me Property, New Zealand’s most visited real estate website.

“This was an easy decision for us. The internet all comes down to traffic and Trade Me Property has more visitors than any other property site so that’s where we wanted to put our customers’ properties,” said Andrew Mark, NZ Chairman of the Professionals Group.

“Like us, Trade Me are an energetic and proud New Zealand company, so its been an easy fit. It’s also been great to be able to work together on charity auctions including one next week for the Child Cancer Foundation.”

The Professionals Group has over 80 offices throughout New Zealand, from Kerikeri to Invercargill. Over the last year they sold over $2.9 billion of real estate in New Zealand.

Trade Me general manager Sam Morgan said he was delighted to have the Professionals become part of the Trade Me community.

“These are great people to work with who put their customers’ interests first,” said Mr Morgan.

“We launched Trade Me Property just five months ago and it’s grown to over 11,000 listings over that time. We’re aiming to hit 24,000 listing by our one year anniversary.”

“It’s early days yet but we’re heading in the right direction and it’s great to have people like the Professionals heading there with us.”

With people complaining about the quality of information on RE sites, it iwll be interesting to see if the professionals provide sufficent details on Trade me.

At the sites I use to look at, it was very hard to tell anything about the property other than what it looks like from the street and number of rooms.

At the very least, what info would you expect - land area?

Quite frankly I wish the Professionals and Ray White would stay off Trademe. They've both got their own websites. Trademe used to be (and still is) good for locating private sellers. The private sellers are good at advertising their own properties and they provide useful info and plenty of photos. Ray White seems to have a policy of very minimal info and no land area.

Having said all of that, I consider Trademe to be the best and most user friendly of all RE sites.

I emailed an agent from a TradeMe advert the other day "What is the street address?"

I got a load of waffle back about how nice and sunny the property was!

I reported around 30 listing yesterday as hoax - they all statred with "Solod, Sold, Sold - more properties needed" - what a crap!
Locating private sellers is very, very difficult now because of RE agencies SPAM!
Don't argue with idiots, they'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

I agree, Trademe has been totally stuffed up for finding private vendors. You have to wade through truckloads of agent drivel to get to a real listing. However itis by far the best of what is on offer. Especially now that Realenz is unusable

I submitted a post on TradeMe a few days ago (in their Category suggestions forum area), and suggested that they provide functionality to:
              - filter searches on Private -vs- Real Estate agent listings
              - search on keywords (eg 'Desperate', 'Urgent', 'Garage', etc)

I also did this when Ray White first started listing... obviously it's been ignored!!

You can do this now using 'Advanced Search', than save as a favourite and have them emailed to you daily.

Still get the agent's listings in there though.
