Drain Unblockers Ltd.

Have used Drain Unblockers for my rental properties in the past, they were competent at that stage.

Rang them at 2pm Monday to book in a job at my flats in Manurewa.
Lady took all the details, and advised that the work would be done early afternoon Tuesday.
As no further contact received, I rang them back at 2.15pm Tuesday to check.
They said that had no record of the booking, but fortunatly could still carry out the work that afternoon. Took all my details - again.
I rang again at 3.30pm as I had spent the entire afternoon sculling around Manukau waiting for their call.
Phone answered by Liz, who said that they had still no record of any booking by me at any time, and that if I wanted the work done that day I would now have to pay overtime rates.
Apparently it was entirely my fault that their booking system is in chaos, and no she did not care a damn if I went away and got the work done by someone else.

So I did.

If you book a job with these people, be very sure you note the exact time and day that you rang and who yopu spoke to. Follow up on the day the work is supposed to happen, otherwise you could be left in the lurch - like I was.

Thanks for the heads up (I've used them in the past too). That sort of incompetence annoys the heck out of me. So who did you use in the end and did they do a good job? I need to get a drain survey done in the city soon....any recommendations?

I've used them too, with mixed results. Now I use an excellent guy; Stu Gray Drainlayer. Unsure if he does south Auckland though, but he could put you onto someone.

Rang PlumbQuick the same day as Drain Unblockers stuffed me around.
Arranged for the work to be done after 2.30pm the following day, as the tenant would be home from that time and I left the cheque to pay for the work with her.

PlumbQuick fellow rang me at 11.45am and said he was on his way. I pointed out that was earlier than arranged time.

Apparently he then turned up in the afternoon and I'm told the work has been completed.

I had pretty good luck with this guy as well, who was recommended by my plumber---Terry-021 815 900---he's also got a camera set up if needed--It was good for me as it determined the roots were on council property--ie. watercare

He's an owner operator which I have learned over the years ,is far better than a larger outfit with employees (like Liz)
