    Market rental Data

    http://www.dbh.govt.nz/housing/tenancy/Market-Rent/market%20rent%20area.asp?Region=Canterbury

Has a list of current market rental data for Christchurch is there anywhere I can find the trends or historical copies of this data. Eg going from memory average rents in Christchurch - Aranui / Avondale / Bromley for a 4 bedroom house have dropped $38 per week since November. But this is meaning less unless I can tell if it is a trend or a one off rogue value

Easiest way is to get hold of back-copies of one of the property mags, which have the data in them each month.

You can buy the information from them, as the magazines do.

Also, KPI has started publishing this year/last year information, so you can see what has happened over the 12 month period.

Yes -it's great to see KPI publishing historical rent info. I have always wanted to track market rent trends & have been meaning to ask Tenancy Services to consider having this info avaliable on thier website with current stats. (Do you think they may provide this if enough PI's & Property Talk people ask for it?)

Massey Universities Property group publishes Market Outlook Surveys for commericial & residential property on thier website for Wellington, Christchurch & Auckland: hhtp://property-group.massey.ac.nz

I ams surprised they dont but maybe they charge the big boys to get that info, though if you have been in the game long enough, you could have downloaded it all anyway.

I wonder if the magazines have to pay to republish the info??

Free download manager: www.freedownloadmanager.org has a buit-in html spider, it can get all pages from the web-site.
feed it with this starting page: http://www.dbh.govt.nz/housing/tenan...ion=Canterbury
            and change depth to 1
how do you find current chch market, btw?
Don't argue with idiots, they'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
