    PAUP news

I was just wondering how everyone keeps up to date with the unitary plan? There's so few sources I can find.

What are the important dates this close to it coming into effect?

I wish there was a way we could still get involved although it's probably too late?

September 1st is the most critical. If you don't have your resource or building consents in for MDU's or subdivision by then you will probably be out of luck.

The first is August 19. That's the deadline for when the Auckland Council has to 'notify' or approve the Unitary Plan presented to it by the Independent Hearings Panel (IHP).

I follow this group on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/UnitaryPlan/?fref=ts
The group admin is a biased away from intensification, but they do post up the latest news usually.

July 22 is when the Panel is supposed to make their recommendation. July 29, it becomes available on Council website. Council has to vote by August 19.

I just read that there's no set date where it has to become operative if there's an appeal to go through, but everyone is looking at the September date.

Is there a way to find out which Councillor favours what kind of policy?

            Ask them?
Or wait for them to vote.
