If you have an extreme/unusual/amusing story you'd like to share, have video or photographic evidence to support it, or know of anyone who does and would be happy to talk on camera, please contact either Torben Akel or Georgina Worsp on:

    (09) 379 7867 extn 218,
OR [email protected] or [email protected]

Any help is appreciated, and all enquires handled in strictest confidence...

    Hi Georgina,

I'm sure Glenn (our resident 'hard man' property manager/investor) could provide you with a 'colourful' story or two. Infact, I bet he could star in a programme that would kick butt on that old rental show that was on the box.

    Try him out.

    Regards,
    Marcus.

p.s. don't tie him up too much as we are encouraging him to write a book on his experiences.

      Perhaps you should ask Olly??

This is exactly why he writes why he does. People don't make TV programmes about dream renovations, only nightmare.

Even the boom times are given a bad slant. "First time buyers priced out of the market". "Nurses no longer able to affort city prices". What about the thousands of people that benefit from the boom? What about the people that benefit from the slump?

What about reporting some good news?

They only report what people want to hear. It's the public that ask for horror stories. CNN, like any media, are only after ratings.

Do people love to see other people fail so they have an excuse not to make the effort themselves? Do inspirational programmes make people feel inferior? Is it because it's easier to change channel than change your life?

Or newspapers or any media for that matter.

Womens' magazines on the other hand quite often tend to go the other way, saying "Look who married blah blah blah!" that sets them up a doozey for when the inevitable 'split' happens

            Sensationalism sells .
