Moving the position of a brick house on section

    PT devloper-types,

Is it possible to move the position of a brick house on a section to enable the section to be more effeciently sub-divided??

If its possible, is it expensive?

    Notes:
The direction the house would be the same. Just moved forward around 30 meters. The section is not flat, its slopes gently down.

Yes-- just add the cost of recladding--- depending on house size and cladding you choose--could cost an extra $10 to $15000 to your project.
Check out square metre rates for various claddings from a local builder, QS or designer

Ohh..you can't just move the whole house, brick cladding and all. It sounds like you are saying the brick cladding would need to be ripped down and can't be re-used. Even though the house would only be moving around 30m or so.

To move a house requires new foundations and/or piles and new stormwater/sewer drains, additional electrical supply cable as well as Building consent. Yes bricks would have to come down and would have to be cleaned up to be reused. There will also be internal repair work. Check with one of the bldg removal companies in your town regarding current costs and what the procedure is.
        Cheers

Yes shane, the brick cldding would have to come down. Recladding in brick has the additional expense of a ring foundation. House movers tend to only use piles and lighter cladding does not need a ring foundation

If it is a concrete slab foundation/flooring you may have a slight problem.

Yes--dont even try to shift it if its on a concrete slab--completely uneconomic
