                I borrowed money from the bank based on my shareholding at very reasonable rate (barely more than for House loans). As long as your gold bar is big and loan isn't big to match, I don't see why you wouldn't be able to pull it off.

                Alternatively, you could invest in a dividend yielding gold mining business on ASX or similar. I'm looking into that right now.

                    A little known fact.

                    If you heat Gold up before you weigh it -- it will actually weigh more.

                    But, you will need a really sensitive scale to measure it.
                    Erewhon is still erehwon, I don’t see it changing anytime soon.
