    Roofer wanted in chch

    Hi,

    Just seeing if anyone could recommend a good roofer in chch. I need to put a new roof on a house. I had a quote for aprox $5000.
    Surely someone will know someone good??

    Oh Also, not directly linked, but I want to hire/borrow/use a porsche 911 in Dec for 1 day. Does anyone know the best place to look?? doesnt seem to be many luxury car hire places in chch.

      Try scottie for the porsche 348 2002 as for the roof 5g's sounds pretty reasonable to me alot cheaper than quotes i have for some of mine

          Agree. $5,000 is not a lot, but then you have to look at what needs to be done, and more importantly how much work you get for that money. If he is just going to brush stroke ove two layers of paint with no prep then $5,000 is an expensive waste of money.

              Yeah I need to replace the whole thing. Its pitched at aprox 4 deg. and has crappy old corragated iron. It needs trim deck or a different profile iron.

                  Hi,

                  I haven't had much luck with roofers in Christchurch. I could give you two negative recommendations if you want to PM me.

                  $5000 seems about right to me?

                  I've used Needs Roofing for an English slate roof and they were very good once they turned up but they had a few scheduling issues.

                  We are re-roofing our own home on Monday. We had quotes for around $5700 (Coloursteel) with us having to arrange the removal and re-installation of our Solar Water system.

                  When we contacted the Plumber who did the original installation he said that he also did roofing and could do the whole job for $5000. I'll let you know if I'd recommend him once I see his workmanship. His original installation was excellent and he is a pleasure to deal with.

                  I believe he gets all his work through recommendations and doesn't advertise.

                      I can now recommend a roofer in Christchurch.

                      Kevin Tetley (03) 365-9959 or (021) 655-400

                      He is a Plumber by trade but also does iron roofing.

                      He did an excellent job on our PPOR roof and will be doing a 350 sq metre roof for us on one of our rental properties in May.
