There's one on trade me (can't do a link 'cause work won't let us look at trade me any more). It's in Phillipstown, someone has started a reno and then given up halfway. Looks like they've gutted it and done the outside, but not really started the inside... might be worth a look and a low offer... I would but my hands are full of renovating at the moment. If you do a search on trademe for houses for sale in philliptown you should find it.

ditto shane, so try to buy it below the value of the section! (you will have to pay for removal, eh?)
Don't argue with idiots, they'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Thanks, Shanenz and Ivanhoe for your good advice. I have arranged to look at it when I arrive in ChCh tomorrow night and will look at as many other properties as I can whilst there for weekend.

Do you know why the walls are warped? Is it a problem with the foundations, or with moisture?

                Just curious,

                Paul.

hey superdad , they are warped because two years ago some genius took out all the internal walls and everything else on the inside in the hope of converting it into two x two bedroom flats and has been a shell ever since
