7seater, you do realise that there's no rail service to the airport?
To get there by public transport, you'd need to take the train into Auckland and then a bus to the airport.

      Huntly - AKL airport.
Intercity bus with connection at Manukau.

About 2 or 2.5 hours in total and about $20.

      Or, a shuttle bus.
$75 from Hamilton, so Huntly would be less I guess.

I'd go a bit further north than Meremere if I wasn't going to be somewhere like Cambridge.
How about Pokeno, not big but a nicer place than Meremere.
I had thought Puke would be OK too.

Can consider halfway and transfer by bus. That is my idea. If direct bus would be better to safe time.

Thanks. will check on the 2 suggested locations/town. I am also weighing on the housing prices.

It seems to have more public transports in main cities. Thanks.

However to live in it permanently they need permission from Immigration NZ.
                Those rules are quite restrictive.

Why is being close to AKL airport such an important factor for you?
It is certainly causing you to look at some less than popular locations.
Considering direct flights and do not need to domestic transit like on the south island. Also do not want to be too far from airport such as 300km. My idea is 100km plus minus. This is just my preference only. Things will change especially after getting to know more about NZ towns in this forum.

                  Thanks. Will check on it.

There are other international airports. Yes, even in the South Island.

                      Hi 7seater.
Do you drive one of those 7 seat taxis in Hong Kong?

Nope. Just a small hatch. Always dream of owing an MPV like Previa/Estima. Singapore cars are very expensive. Maybe I can have my dreams comes true in NZ.

Has been staying in city life for 40 years now. If were to change to peaceful boring life could pose problem where I have to adapt to. I cannot be sure that I can take it. Anyway, must try.

For lease hold properties in NZ, what is the tenure? In Singapore is 99 years.

From the real estate sites like Lynfield has only lease hold of 21 years. Although states renewal possible. Too short.

Are you sure that a renewal is only possible? Most leaseholds I have come across have been renewable in perpetuity. That means that they renew every 21 years for as long as the building stands. You pay an annual lease for the land but own the house itself. Every renewal date the lease amount is set for the next 21 years.
I believe that leasehold is different in other countries.
