Interest.co.nz fake posts using PropertyTalk Identities.

I thought some of you might me interested that your usernames are being used to make posts on interest.co.nz! Mine too!

See this article and the following posts: http://www.interest.co.nz/ratesblog/...mbers-renting/

Dean Letfus - here, here, here
    Essence - here, here
    Perry - here

Interest.co.nz doesn't require any login to post on the articles and you can basically pretend to be anyone you like without being identified. Moderation hasn't been required until now!

Not only that, they couldn't even SPELL my sign in name correctly!!!

1 I have no rentals advertised in Wellington atm
2 Whomever it is, can't spell for ****!!
3 Doesn't know how to use grammar
4 I gave up going to Church years ago and I'm not likely to start again now - for ANY reason.

To all persons reading this - I AM NOT THE PERSON POSTING ON INTEREST.CO.NZ WEBSITE AND I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THAT PERSONS ACTIONS!!

I sent Bernard a DM on Twitter about this post. He could get the IP addresses of the posters. Then we can get the ISP's to locate the real people/accounts used to post on Interest.co.nz at that time. Not hard as we do this sometimes when people impersonate other people. I have had ISP's ring people up at their houses to tell them to stop it or they will report them to the police!

You would have to write very well to dupe someone into thinking you were Essence.
How hard would it be to get the right mix of rage and fury.

LOL only joking love your work (please don't hurt me)

They are even copying the fact
that Perry can never write a
sentence that goes to the edge
            of the page.

                Can posters put
                emoticons on that
                site? If they can
                and there are none in
                Perry's posts, then
                it is an imposter
                for sure.

Some of us regulars on Bernard Hickey's site have been badgering him to tighten up the rules on user names . From time-to-time someone plays up , and stuffs a good debate . Thanks to you guys for supporting us , in getting the ninnies out of the way of real discussions .

And if we get a positive result , then the next round of Gummy Bears are on me !

How would you know for example that the Interest "Essence" is trying to impersonate the PT Essence or even knows about the pt Essence. Just because the PT Essence is in use by the writer of Essence on PT it doesn't mean the Essence writer has exclusive rights to the name everywhere on the internet. That being said, if I find anyone except me using dandan.....................................

By the fact that the interest "essence" has signed on as "essance....just being me!"", which if you look closely enough, is very close (apart from the fact that "it" can't spell for ****) to my sign-on on PT.

Steve, why thank you. I work very hard on that "rage and fury" part. Most times I'm softness and sweetness (*cough cough cough cough cough*) and my bark is waaaaaaaaaaay worse than my bite. I'm really just a sweetie - deep, deep, deep down

...and I'll only hurt you, if you pay me - uuuuuuu, a profitable side-line perhaps??

                          Hmmm, could be a clue;

Essance: A girl who is appealling on the eye to a male

Just had a look at the article in question on Interest, definatly some monkey business going on.

                          Interesting wake up call:
Having an IP traced could lead to a company IP, making it difficult to find the individual employee especially if they logged in to another employees pc. Could be posting using free wifi at a cafe. Commonly leaving no space after a commer could suggest a mobile numeric key pad?

Very true - though most people aren't that careful if trying to be naughty on the net. The other thing is that most non-techies don't have a clue how much information they give away when posting.

It seems to me Interest.co.nz really needs to focus on moderation or at least have a report comment button.
