    traders wellington?

    Hi,

Was wandering if anyone knew what happened to traders wellington? It seemed to be all go well with Steve Goodey leding the way last year but now appears to have come to a grinding halt.

    Cheers

This is all really interesting. It is no surprise a few property industry groups are hurting. In Wellington you have Wellington PIA and Capital PIA. There was no room for the Traders. A similar situation exists in Auckland with the long standing Auckland Property Investors Association, and The Auckland Traders (Property Plus).

I think that maybe Wellington Traders is a few months advanced from the Traders Auckland and has died already? With no coffee/tea at the last meeting; dwindling numbers; John May and Garth Melville no longer with the Traders as per last NZ Property Magazine, diversification into property investment and home ownership (in a desperate attempt to get some members) - I just can't see how the Traders can survive in Auckland either?

Houses were never commodities, thats not to say you can not have a decent life style being a landlord though...

The old school landlords I knew and worked for were always more focused on *income* & *pos cash flow* rather than illusionary capital gains next week...

        thanks for the responses

Agree, to me it is disappointing that they have not notifed members about what is happening. If you got an annual membership last year there was only about 4 meetings.

        Cheers
