How do you word an email to cancel a sale and purchase agreement?

Hi I have a S&P that is conditional upon a due diligence clause. I have not used a lawyer as yet, and I am wondering if I am able to write to the vendor's solicitor myself to inform them that due diligence is not met.

Could I do that myself?

I dont think so (get a lawyer there is too much at stake)

what does the due diligence clause say.

It may not give you the power you think? Do this wrong and you get sued for the vendors loss.
