Okay so first time I've come across this - client is telling me his lawyer can't reveal details of separation agreement until settlement of sale has occurred and all debts are paid - does this make any sense? I suspect he's decided to 'save money' by not engaging a lawyer.

He's claiming his lawyer won't reveal details to him when he is party to the deal. Typically a separation agreement will include details on relationship property, splits etc. well in advance of settlement.Originally posted by Rosco View PostGenerally if something like this is confidential, you can still talk to your advisors. So I'm surprised all the financial details can't be disclosed to you.

Glad this is making no sense to anyone else either. Thought the client was telling me a story.
