The information i'm looking for is more of a 'what is it like', crime statistics, main property types, areas to avoid etc. Unfortunately, although the data at the link you provided will be very useful, it doesnt give any details of the general living for human beings in those areas!!
Are you from NZ muppet? do you know where to go, where not to go and the like?

I'd take a look through some of the personal pages at DMOZ to get a sense of how people are living. You might be able to hook up with some of the locals and get their thoughts.

If you are wanting to come and spend your money in our city you are welcome. !!
You can find out all sorts of information from the city council web site,
I know of a few people that have come from various parts of the world just on the basis of the web sites. These people have purchased businesses and homes and are loving it here.
Boy we just do not know how lucky we are. !!
As for me I would not be that trusting. I would want to come and have a look first.
