What would Jesus do? From memory he had a treasurer in his team who looked after all the financial dealings - a guy called Judas, famous for one transaction in particular. I don't recall Jesus buying or selling property, though there is good evidence that he worked as a builder for a number of years.
Elsewhere in his book though, either he or his Dad talk about not using dishonest scales or measures, looking out for the poor etc - but they also praise a woman who bought a field and made money out of it.
I can also recall a situation where a couple were struck dead when, following the sale of their property, they lied about the sale price in order to cheat God of his tithes. Ouch.
Seems honesty is more important than haggling?
