Paul34, xris no one is saying the agents primary responsibility is not to the vendor, what is being pointed out is whether this gives the agent a licence to be unethical, such as lie about the possibility of there beiing another offer.
How you deal with this type of negotiator is up to you, personally if I found out the agent lied in an attempt to extract the best price for the vendor I would not want to do business through the agent.
There has to be a level of fact in a negotiation process, this is why as investors we are taught to leave emotion out of our business dealings.
