My favourite. most irritating one (and agents are the worse offenders here!).. .. is where they advertise a house that is 'sort after' rather than 'sought after'. Huh?!?!
OK... now you can go back to the thread..
Now that one really drives me nuts!! What about 'rennovated' ??. That is a popular one on 'Trade Me'..
We should start a whole new thread for this

My pet hate are advertisements that state "Normal credit criteria applies", rather than "normal credit criteria apply" or "normal credit criterion applies". Singular and plural are not the same, people.
And then there's the poor use of the apostrophe - aaargh.
And don't forget the vacant-eyed store clerk who, when you pull out your EFTPOS card, asks "will that be EFTPOS or credit". I've come so close on so many occassions to just losing it, right there, and screaming "EFTPOS stands for Electronic Funds Transfer at Point Of Sale, you moron. It doesn't matter where the funds are being transferred from - my check account, my credit card account, or my offhore account where I bank the proceeds of my brothel earnings and P-dealing. What is it about acronyms you don't understand - perhaps you shouldn't have dropped out of school when you were 7, and gone working in the mines."
But I keep my cool, because at heart I not a negative person.
But sometimes I think like one.
Paul.

I just received an email from you with your latest guest speaker and if this is the tone of what is coming then yes I will like it.
It had none of the usual exagerated claims that I'm accustomed to reading and was pretty well balanced. It was far less over the top and frankly hats off.
You couldn't help yourself with the bit about 'one of our most respected property investor bits' but no doubt in time we will see a resume to substainate that claim
I think that what you have to say is valuable, if it is presented more factual and less marketing oriented. You will never be critiqued by going down this track which has been my whole point. Quanifiable stats and statements that are aiming towards the promotion of truth.
NZ needs an organisation to teach financial literacy and you are well placed to do this, if you look to present yourself more as an educational/seminar based company rather than a marketing firm running an informercial.
As for KPI the thing was that it too was starting to come right. The stats section in the new mag was suberb. It would appear it was all too little too late. It comes as no surprise BTW that the peak for sales was late 2004. It was about then the rot started in the PM and you therefore prove my point better than I did.

I'm told the gentler PJ that is being portrayed is due to a new spirituality that has calmed the rampant ego. However this seems incompatible with kicking an old business partner when he's down.
Wealth vs Health - why have both when you can gorge on one?

There are some surprising differences in the way plastics
are handled. For those unused to North American credit
card treatment by merchants, it will be quite a surprise.
E.g. PINs on credit cards are unknown in Canada & USA.
"EFTPOS card?" Whazzat? "ATM card?" Whazzat? They're
called debit cards, over there.
The scariest part is watching the waitress sidle off
with a credit card in her folder, to process the transaction
out-of-sight. "That's the way it's done here," my host told
me as he saw me haemorrhaging over that practice.
Travel broadens the mind – right?
Given the pet peeves about language, I'm surprised no
one's mentioned the greatest redundancy of them all for
the modern era: "Do you have a PIN number on that card?"
There were some posts earlier in this thread about the quality of content in the magazines.
At the NZ Property Magazine we work hard to provide high quality copy for readers and we are proud of what we produce.
One of our writers, Diana Clement, was today named as the overall winner of the 2006 Real Estate Institute of New Zealand Property Media Awards.
She also was the winner of the Best Property Portfolio category award.
These awards were for material published in the NZ Property Magazine.
“Diana entered an extensive portfolio which judge Terry Hall deemed the most detailed series on property he has seen in this competition. While Diana’s entry was written for a specialist property publication, The New Zealand Property Magazine, it was in layman’s terms making it accessible and appealing to a wide audience. The portfolio was “well researched, clearly written; a first class entry that would have provided new information to even the most informed property investor.”
This interview is with Donna Richardson Co Founder of the successful website Property Talk which commenced in 2003 to provide independent information (news & resources) and an online discussion forum for locals and non-residents to discuss property investment in New Zealand. Today pt.com is part of the global site. Marc & Donna created pt.co.nz whilst living in Melbourne, Australia. They now live in Kapiti – a coastal region of New Zealand 50 km north of the capital city – Wellington...The world is where we work, live and play….oh and invest in property...The focus for the site is to provide free and independent information on property investment
PropertyTalk is one word - and we are known as PropertyTalk.com. Our url is www.propertytalk.com - please make the necessary changes in your forums.

Much the same over here in the UK where eftpos in shops is an exciting and new thing...
However last year in Portugal my NZ eftpos card with pin worked perfectly well in shops and was the expected thing... globalization eh?
I must apologise for being positive in my previous posting. I will never make the mistake of congratulating anyone, due to the risk of stepping on someones rather pedicured little toes.
P#ssing on boundaries and all that.
Thank you to the person who felt aggrieved enough to black mark me in the reputation area, which now ranks me fourth from last out of some 3,800 members. I am humbled at being called a 'hijacker'.
Although a private message would have been nice, I respect your right to stab me in the back, behind the shroud of anonymity. Fair play to you.
As a member of PT, LL and RM websites I enjoy communicating with NZ's PI population at large and have no issue crossing borders. I am sorry that you do.
I agree stay positive - in fact I believe we had the 'reputation' function deactivated and the recent upgrade of the forum software automatically loaded it online. I don't understand it....nor look at it .
