Default Fixing ceiling board to a concrete ceiling

A fibreboard ceiling panel has come off a concrete ceiling - space was originally built as an under-house garage and converted many years ago to living accommodation.

The panel was glued on and, I'm guessing, over the years the vibration and general wear and tear has lossen it enough and it fell down.

The problem is how to fix it back up again - the glues I can find need 20 minutes to cure, and I don't fancy holding it up for that long! Can't nail it in to the concrete. Could screw it, but seem overkkill.

    Any other clever ideas?

I have no idea what' they're called, but a couple of things used when gibbing a ceiling:

Hydraulic (?) lift that pushes the gib up and hold it in place

Small plastic toggle kind of things that you screw into the ceiling, then swing around to hold the edges of the gib in place while you scre it in.

You might be able to use somethng like these to hold the panel in place until the glue goes off? Tht is of course if you can work out what the hell I'm talking about!

    Thanks Gerrard,

Its only a single panel, so Hydraulics sound like overkill.

"Small plastic toggle kind of thing" sounds interesting - I'll investigate that further.

    How big is the panel???

If it's a small panel, then you can use a 'contact' glue. Eg. Ados F2. If it's a larger panel, I'd suggest that you use a couple of props to support it for 24 hours or so.

Follow the directions on the pack carefully and it'll work. There are many other adhesives you can use, but I'd need to see the situation to comment further.

I would take it that you've fixed the problem now, but if anyone ends up with the same problem the product you want is SB by Fosroc (quick cure).
Put it on both surfaces wait a couple of minutes push together and it sticks like shit to a blanket.
