  • Build over stormwater pipe in Auckland

Hi there, 1st time asking question at this forum. I am planning subdivision our property and the new house would build over council's stormwater pipe. I believe the pipe buried underground about 1.2meters deep. I heard the house needed pile bridging for foundation. Anyone knows the clearance limit between ground surface and house foundation base? thanks in advance.

Council want to make sure your building doesn?t damage the pipe but also if the drain needs replacing they can access it. They prefer that you redirect the drain around the building can this be done?

You can bridge it but it will require an engineered design.

Yes, bridging can be done but needs engineering design. You will also need before and after cctv reports.
