Homeowner can not move tenants on says Tenancy Tribunal

Tenants can not be moved between late March and early June due to pandemic - so this homeowner who gave notice to tenants in February as he was moving back from Aussie is left paying $1250 a week to live in a serviced apartment and also storage costs! Zero sympathy from TT.

Where's the Gov't help for homeowners who have been forced to keep tenants in their properties for 3 months?

As I read it, the current rule about no termination notices covers a period of 3 months from 26 March, but that it might be extended.

Meantime Minister Faafoi is rushing through new RTA amendments, hoping of course they will kick in before the covid changes expire .....

Also meantime, thousands of new taxpayer funded subsidised homes so the Minister must be expecting landlords to change their minds. Interesting to see what happens to all the consented apartment developments.

My heart sure goes out to the homeowners. My concern for them is that the tenants might take an age to find another property that suits their every whim. The government should be assisting those tenants to find another property as quickly as possible.

Or assisting the LLs placed in an invidious - if not impossible situation - by socialist Cindy's regulations / laws.
