Heads Should Roll - A Conundrum

Are any heads being rolled due to the big fail that's created more Covid cases?

What you say touches on a latent problem with gummint service personnel. (local & national gummint). They can make some really bad and/or really expensive mistakes and there are no consequences, aside perhaps from reduced promotion options. I.e. Unless they actually do something dishonest, they're untouchable - on a life time sinecure.

But if - as part of their terms and conditions of employment - they had to bear some significant cost-responsibility for any stupid and/or really expensive mistakes, who would take the job on?

Did I miss something - so far they haven't transmitted it to anyone else (remember I did say 'so far').

Given Aus still has community transmission I can't see us having cases at the border having a bearing on a transtasman bubble - would we really want Aussies coming in until they get 0 community transmission?

Maybe 'create' is ambiguous - we had zero cases for 24 days and now we have 2 and maybe more (created) due to the slack process and allowing the infected to come into contact with others.

We have 2 cases but not due to slack processes.
We potentially have more due to slack processes but at this stage none have been found so none created.
People say this all the time as if anything other than not let people in will stop new cases at the border.
Testing negative before they leave the far away land would help but that won't stop all either.
WE WILL HAVE MORE CASES AT THE BORDER.
