  • Conoravirus Impact?

Given the latest news eg UK foreign office we don't travel to Italy quarantine areas plus the virus getting a foothold in other European countries, as a potential first time property investor, what impact do people think the Conoravirus will have property prices both home and in Europe in 2020?

    Hi Royal4444,

It's probably the last thing the UK needs as it has enough to work through with Brexit. See this opinion piece.

    cheers,

I guess we are all in the same boat eg all countries around the world at the moment. I think there is a lot of pent of demand due to Brexit, therefore, if the Govt's budget later today can see us through this crisis eg helping business to survive, my feeling is the outlook is good, however, it could be a while before this conoravirus is eradicated - thats the scary unknown.

Pandemic declared. WW2 legislation enacted to allow hospitals in Italy to refuse treatment to some.

Meanwhile China is in the early stages of recovery. Isn't it more like a passing storm NZ just gets the tail end of it before a big high takes over.

          cheers,

It's a bigger deal than I thought. This is a very learned man talking about it with Joe Rogan:

Yeah I've started watching it! Our border restrictions are to increase today - no news on it yet.

The news yesterday that this is a Global Pandemic and that the UK has at least 10,000 infected people despite only 500 ish diagnosed cases means this is sadly very serious and we are in unknown territory.

What's unknown about? Plenty of pandemics in the not too distant past. A lot of people die but most recover. Keep calm, carry on and wash your hands. At least now we have effective public medical care, fast communications and in the future a vaccine.

What for? There's no vaccine, and won't be for about 2 years.

So another theory is it's your DNA that decides how you'll react to COVID-19 and there must be some truth in this as a 106 year old beats the virus!

UK lockdown extended for at least another 3 weeks - what will be left of the UK in the aftermath of coronavirus and Brexit? More keen to immigrate to NZ perhaps?

                        cheers,
