  • Scrim Wall House Insurance

    Hi all,

Is anyone aware of a company/broker who can arrange insurance on an old house with scrim walls?

    House has been rewired.

Seems like scrim is about as popular as an airborne virus.

    Grazie,
    SK

      Ah yes logical question.

Because I want to bulldoze the whole thing in a year or two and start again.

        Why bother insuring then?
If it burns down it save you demolish cost.

I imagine it's a requirement of his lender.

Speak to Chris Lane of FirstLane brokers. He helped me insure a house I bought for a few months while I removed the scrim. I assume it's possible to do it for longer, I guess?

Have you a mortgage on the property @swisskiwi ?
If you have told the bank you are demolishing the property the security of the land must be enough.
