Hi all,
Just wondering what experience others have had with the provided online heating assessment tool. I have run through this for 2 of my rentals so far, and have noticed that the defaulted R values seem rather conservative ie low. For example one of mine the living room is above the garage, and full insulation has been installed. This is how I answered the relevant question, but it still defaulted an R value of 1.3, which is LOWER than the relevant Standard. My insulation alone has R1.5, before even taking into account the floor / lining / carpet.
By following the tool assumptions might be being pushed into installing larger heatpumps than required (yes I know its only a "guide" but its what is provided
I have double-checked the math by building my own spreadsheet (and so I can do what-if for closing off open plan etc), so fairly confident this could make a difference
