Monetary stimulus is useless against a genuine supply shock and and demand for new credit collapses.

Growth was already weakening for other reasons than COVID-19.
Monetary tools are not designed for these kind of situations.
Any further rate cuts will only lead to bigger debt bubble.

So this thing could fast track the eventual day of reckoning or we enter survival mode (throw everything all at once , stimulus, surplus (at local governance level ) cheap credit etc etc until such time the great RESET occurs.

The Warren Buffets of the world will be ready to pounce on your cheap Kiwisaver shares...the Graeme Fowler's of NZ will be watching, waiting for the regions to be flooded with positively geared properties...

    Ha, I like Warren.

Didn't he start from almost no money?

Although I think his childhood comic book rental library scheme wouldn't have worked on me.
I used to like to buy the books, so I could keep looking at the artwork.

Anyway, as Warren has noted, you all only have yourselves to blame, you're a bunch of short sighted, irrational, self delusional nutcases
He gets rich by not being one of those, for a brief tame each day.

There is a school of thought that disagrees. I think someone posted it on this forum. It was about how war was a great leveller; how the rich become a lot less rich and how the poor became a lot less poor.

I think the author[s] linked to, said there were four things that were the harbinger of a 'big levelling.' Your observation has three, but whether or not it was those three and one other, I can't recall. Nor can I track done the item I'm referring to.

    Maybe someone else can?
