Haha. ACT, the last hope for the desperate right wingers. They say what we want to hear but will never get past 1% at the polls, so will never have more than 1 MP. Which means they (he) are ineffective.
Mate, just stop watching/reading/listening to the media. I never do now. If I'm in the car and the news comes on, I switch off the radio for 5-10 mins until the music is back on again. I never watch the news on the telly like I always used to. It's an hour of pfaff with soooo many ads in the middle. I also don't read news websites.
Only FaceBook, Interest.co.nz and here.
They are in the ad selling business, not the news selling business. And selling ads these days means getting clicks. And how do you get clicks? You
Squadly dinky do!

yes
sadly the mainstream media now seem to have largely decided they are above reporting unbiased news to equals
instead they want to preach down to children from bully-pulpits
no wonder the world is turning away from "the new world-order"
back to local conservatism
+ true liberals get shot by both sides

That's a novel way for a property investor/ business director to stay informed and make strategic decisions about their business and future actions.
I guess you're at the retirement level now and on the slow descent to winding everything up.

I believe the real agenda is to totally control landlords including capping rents!

it does seem that many who don't study history
are quite happy to repeat it
Rent regulation is one of several classes of policies proposed to improve housing affordability, alongside subsidies (including vouchers and tax credits) and
policies aimed at expanding the housing supply.[7] There is a consensus among economists that rent control reduces the quality and quantity of housing.
The Swedish economist Assar Lindbeck, a housing expert, said that
"rent control appears to be the most efficient technique presently known to destroy a city – except for bombing".[12]

Marama Davidson is on the record saying that rent control is her number one priority. The Nation, 10 March 2018.

While I do not utilise faecesbook, I side with David in saying that real & relevant news and helpful information can be collected elsewhere than the so-called main media click-bait-driven dross. PT would rate very high on my list of credible people / sources. Aardvark daily is another. PT forumites often post links to other erudite and well-informed blogs, including o'seas sources.
Sometimes, I find I know of important things before it's re-hashed by hack journos in local media with the grammar, punctuation and semantics so horribly mangled, as only they can do.
As for retirement - raucous laughter heard - PIs can only retire if they sell up.
